Is a bottle sterilizer/dryer necessary?

Question

It's a machine by Baby Brezza that sterilizes then dries bottles, nipples and pacifiers after being washed. Could be used as a bottle rack too. Still requires everything to be washed beforehand though.

I just use these Mandela bags that you put all your nipples or whatever you want to sterilize in and two oz of water and microwave it for three minutes and each bag can be used 20 times they're great.

I think it's a waste of money, time, and energy. With my first born we bought a little container made by munchkin for bottle pieces and nipples and just threw everything in the dishwasher. My son is 5 now, and perfectly healthy, and was hardly ever sick as a baby. We plan to do the same with this baby

You can Boil your bottles, nipples, pacifiers for 5 mins and it has the same effect...

I just use/used the dishwasher for bottles and nipples. The steam dry at the end of the cycle sterilizes and drys it all. I just popped them out when it turned off and sealed them away in a large zip lock bag.

Drying mat is all your really need and if they sick or you just want something extra clean!!  Put it all in the dish washer and put heat dry ;)

I personally feel it is not necessary. You want them to be clean but the have to build up their immune system at some point.

I personally feel it's a waste. What's wrong with just washing them by hand with hot soapy water? I'll be washing them the same way I wash all my dishes.

Ever since she's been in the hospital I've just used hot soapy water. If they aren't perfectly dry, I'm not worried about it. I just leave them on a drying mat.
