me and my boyfriend have been together for almost a year and are thinking about having sex. Need advice and I'm not sure if it's the right thing to do

To be honest 14 is very young to be sexually active. In most states, you're not even legally allowed to consent to sex until the age of 16. I know that's a long way off for you, but you have to keep in mind that if you guys get caught, there could be some very serious consequences. So I personally believe you should wait. I also know that you're 14 and going to do what you want anyway (because it's your body and I'm not here to boss you around) so if you do decide to have sex, please, please, please use protection and use it correctly. Condoms+some form of spermicide= almost 100% protection. The world is already tough enough and having a baby so young would only make things tougher. 
TL; DR: I believe you should wait until at least the legal age of consent, but if not use protection (condoms+spermicide =almost 100% success rate)

Personally, sex at 14 is too young. It isn't the be all and end all, and you should enjoy being young without the worries of sex (possibility of pregnancy, pressure of having it, sneaking around behind your parent's backs, etc.).
However, if you choose to do so, make sure you are protected. If you feel that your parents will support you in this decision, talk to them about it.

What you've got to take into consideration is your still young and sex changes the whole dynamics of your relationship it's like me I lost my vaginity after being with my boyfriend at the time for a year and a bit and I bloody wish I didn't the relationship broke down because he expected it more and more at the time I was 15 and still finding my self and developing and it got way too intense he was hooked so about 6 months later we broke up ..... Youv got to make sure you both are grown up and mature and confident in your own skin because you will regret it if not I know I did I felt dirty slutty and bad because it was illegal  .. I lost my virginity the summer right before Freshman year of highschool. Being 19 now I look back and wish I had waited. Then I was more so curious and didn't realize how genuine it could've been if I waited until atleast 16. I also have younger siblings now that are that age and thinking of them having sex just gives me the chills. I lost my virginity just before my 14th birthday and regret it. It's far too young! I may have been mature for my age but at that age you're still immature and have a lot more growing to do! Wait it out until you're at least legal and have experienced more to life. At that age you should be worrying about your grades, not pregnancy and std's. I'm the same age but my boyfriend just turned fifteen in September and I'm about to in April. We've been dating for over two years and literally talk about everything. We've talked about having sex, the consequences (what we'd do if something went wrong), each other's boundaries, and just about everything else related to being as close as sex brings a couple. I honestly think that I'm too young to be sexually active but I'm pretty mature for my age, and nothing is wrong with talking about it with your SO. Nothing is wrong with wanting to know what to do or how it'd play out if it just happened. I always ask questions and pay attention when it comes to sex or stds in health so if I did become sexually active young, I'd know what to do to be safe. You do you, if you're comfortable, and trust him, you could go for it.

Don't do it if you think it isn't the right thing to do... Especially if you're a virgin, you might wanna wait until you're older and make sure its with someone who you really love & until you've matured a little more, so i say just wait, you have a long time until you're an adult still so don't rush things someone else could come along and you might love them more and it might be amazing & to share loosing  your virginity to someone who you truly love is the best feeling you will ever have.
