Stuck on an ex

How can I get over my ex? He's such a fuckboy so it's easy for him to just move on and I don't think he ever really cared about me and it sucks because I loved him so much. We were more of a fwb type of situation but I still consider him an ex. I've tried seeing other people but I see my ex and I still feel it. This last time he hurt me worse than anyone ever has to the point where I can now say I hate him with a passion but at the same time I love and care about him so much (this has also been going on for about a year and a half). Advice?
