My pain turns me off?

What are some ways that my boyfriend can help turn me on more before we have sex. Since my sophomore year in college I've had a lot of issues with my ovaries, cysts, and uti's so there are times when I am in so much pain sex is totally out of the question, but even when I feel okay and want to have sex, I struggle with being able to get fully turned on. I think part of the reason might be because I am scared of being in pain after or getting a uti. Is there any way to fix this? I have talked with my gynecologist, but other than taking my birth control regularly along with Tylenol for pain, she has not had any ideas that have worked.
