Sex after getting a tattoo?

Alright, i know this is a kinda weird question, but would it be okay to have sex right after getting a tattoo? The reason I'm asking is because my boyfriends getting a tattoo on Monday and I'm going back home to surprise visit him on Thursday. And after not seeing each other for a good month and going that long without sex..well you can imagine what'll happen. Point being he's getting a tattoo on his chest and I was wondering if it'll be a good idea to have sex or not, being I don't wanna hurt him if the pain of the tattoo is that bad.
