How swollen is too swollen?

I know swelling is normal but I've never had it in past pregnancies and now at 35 weeks all of the sudden I have huge elephant looking feet...just a bit nervous because my mom had very severe pre eclampsia that almost cost her her life and mine because it wasn't diagnosed

This isn't meant to sound snarky, so don't take it that way :) But if you're concerned enough to post about it and have that genetic history, you should call your doctor or go to L&D. I would so rather be safe than sorry. Good luck; I hope it's absolutely nothing.

Put your feet up and see if swelling goes down. If not, go ahead and call l&d.

I have small feet and legs but I can not fit into shoes even though I bought some 2-3 sizes bigger. So swollen my skin has started cracking. Swollen all the way up. My dog stepped on my thigh and left a very good paw print for a few hours. No blood pressure problems. Dr said only way to get swelling down is to have baby. The swelling is extremely painful but nothing I can do til the 30th when they will induce

My feet swell like this every single day & all the way up my calves to where it hurts to bend. My blood pressure is always good though so dr says its just part of being pregnant. Although If you have other signs of pre eclampsia I would definitely go into the hospital..

Anyway for you to take your blood pressure? Any other symptoms of preeclampsia? If so, I would find a weekend/overnight number and give them a call. Preeclampsia can go badly very quickly. I'm dealing with what they believe to be the start of it currently.

I have high blood pressure and last weekend my feet swelled up and stayed swollen. They've basically been swollen all week. I called my doctor last Monday and they saw me right away. I ended up in the hospital because I also had protein in my urine. They did a full preeclampsia work up on me and so far, I don't have it but I'm going in for an ultrasound on Tuesday because my amniotic fluid was low. Call your doctor and see what they say. Especially if it's new and it doesn't go away! Some swelling is normal but it's supposed to go away.

Oh wow I though mine were really swollen. Mine go down during the night but swell back up during the day wierd.
