Why am I bleeding?!?

So I have been on my period and I have gotten very stressed and so my period stopped. I don't know if that's normal and my blood was kinda dark. I then just had sex with my boyfriend and have not been stressed and now bleeding but it's bright red. Should I be worried about this?! Or is it normal?! HELP
