Pubic Keloids (graphic image)
I'm not sure if this is a very common thing, I know a lot of women get hair bump scars from shaving down there, but my body takes that to an extreme. I have 3 keloids in my pubic area from shaving. The picture posted is one I found on google, not mine. A keloid is an area of irregular fibrois tissue formed at the sight of a scar or injury. In other words, a really huge ugly scar lol. I just want to shed some light on this since no one talked to me about it or told me how to prevent it. So there's a few things:
1. The tendency to get keloids is usually hereditary. So if your parents get them, you probably will too.
2. They form from open cuts/scars or hair bumps
3. If your skin is prone to them, shaving with bikini zone shave gel or hair conditioner is important it will decrease your chances of getting them.
4. After shaving, get a cold rag and dab the area to close your pores, this helps keep the hair bumps/ razor bumps away
5. Once you get keloids the only way to get rid of them is by surgical removal, which in turn could leave a different keloid scar if your skin is prone to them.
6. You can also get hydrocortisone injections from a dermatologist to flatten them out.
7. If you get them, keep some pur cocoa butter handy because they will itch, and when you scratch them they get bigger.
You can use the shaving tips even if you don't have keloid skin.
I hope this information is useful to some of you ladies!
