Hijab during childbirth?

Asalamulaikum, sisters, I am hoping you can help answer my question. Should we wear our hijab while we are in the hospital for childbirth? I want to do what is right, but the thought of wearing it in that situation seems very uncomfortable, especially since my modesty will be zero while the focus is on the birth. What did you sisters do when you gave birth?

I'm not sure what is the way we should I about it, as I'm a revert and still learning. 
But as per my resent experience 
I had one with me but I didn't wear it, I made sure to only have female staff during labor.
The only thing was that my anesthesiologist  was a male, no female ones where available and I had to expose my back, I had no other choice.

At times of birth all you need to think about is giving birth and you being healthy. Nothing extra. Allah knows giving birth is not easy so there are no obligations to wear a hijab or be with only females or pray or anything like that during the time of birth because it is such a painful experience.

Not a religious scholar but this is my point of view.  you can request all female staff. If that's not an option I think there can be made exceptions for medical professionals keeping you safe. Far more intimate parts of your body will be exposed. Islam is an easy religion in which your pure intention matters.

I've given birth two times so far and both times didn't wear the hijab. Just made sure the nurses and dr were female. If you're in a situation where you can't have a female present and only a male dr or nurse are available then it's ok. If you don't have any other option then it's not your fault.

no its not necessary considering FAR more intamate parts of your body will be revealed but you can ask for no students or male nurses

I have 3 kids and every time I told them females only in my room and if a man has to enter I want to be told so I can dress to my comfort level, I put it my birth plan and made a notice to tape on the door 😂.  The anesthesiologist was a male I wore my hijab for that and had my husband in the room with me, im a convert my mom poked some fun at me, shes not Muslim but IDC thats what made me comfortable

Ok... I know this question is forever years old but it just came up on my news feed.
So for anyone in future who sees it I just wanted to say:
We should always seek answers with proofs and from places of knowledge because we don’t want to give out bad advice. Praying is still obligatory even if it’s sitting or laying and just moving the head.
We can try our best to make sure it’s female only staff and even if we just cover our hair with an under cap is better than just saying F it I don’t care.
Haya (modesty/shyness) is a beautiful thing and we should try to maintain it as much as possible. Not to come across all preachy but I want for my sisters what I want for myself and pray Allah keep us all upon whats in our best interest 💜💜💜💜

Trust me, you ll be pulling your hijab off during birth. I wore it to the hospital and while in labour, but tugged it off, because it  got too hot.

I've been wondering about this as well. I have my midwife but there's no telling what the hospital staff will be.

At least after the child birthing is done I won't have to worry about making sure my hair looks good for pictures!
