Lower abdominal cramping

I've recently stopped taking my birth control and my and my bf have been having lots of sexy time together and I'm also ovulating this week and have had the most horrible cramps ever and am just wondering what could possibly be causing them? The fact that I've stopped my pill, lots of activity in the bedroom or that I am ovulating?
