Dating

I went on a date once with this guy and it was so awkward. I'm twenty one and I only been on a handful of dates so I'm still kind of new to this. So this guy and I went to the movies. From the start, he's hugging all on me and slightly rubbing on my butt discreetly. I felt very uncomfortable and kind of step away, but he still didn't get the hint because once we got inside the movie theater, he kept rubbing my thigh and was putting his arms around me. I was trying not to be rude, so I just politely move his hand. The whole date I felt uncomfortable. I'm not a touchy person, and dating is still new to me. Is this normal for a guy to be this touchy on a first date? Or was I overreacting ?
