Do you guys still get your nails done as a single parent?

I'm a single mom of a one year old. I work and take care of my daughter and pay bills, you know the usual adult stuff. But I never seem to have money to get my nails and toes done. I look at my daughter's dad's gf and her nails and toes are always done. I look at other girls my age and they always have their feet done. I'm 22 and I just feel like I'm falling apart as a women smh. Does everyone still get their nails and toes done? How do you manage to do that?

It's all about priorities and it seems like yours are in the right place. Sure right now I love getting my nails and toes done, but when I have this baby and my income changes, if costs need to be cut, it's the first thing to go. It's a luxury, not a necessity. Maybe you should ask for a gift card for xmas or your birthday to treat yourself?

I don't get mine done, I think it's a waste of money. I'm 25, I think I've had fake nails maybe 4 or 5 times in my life? and those were for special events (prom/weddings).

I wouldn't say you're falling apart, but you have priorities and getting your nails done doesn't make the list.

I do my own nails, I think it's a waste of money to pay $50 to do something I can do just as well myself. However, my nails are not fake, I just take care of them and paint them.

Nope i have only ever had them done once for a wedding I was in and the bride required it and paid for it because she wanted it done. I was 17 at the time. Have never done it since because my priorities are taking care of the needs for my SO and step daughter. Thats what my money goes to. Her mom who has only worked for about 2 years now always had her nails done when she didn't have a job and still does now but tells my step daughter she can't afford to buy her new shoes when they have holes and are too small because they are too expensive but she makes more than my SO and she gets $400 a month in chikd support with 50/50 custody. It's all about priorities and your child should be that but there is nothing wrong with going and getting it done once in awhile and treating yourself.

I'm a married mom and I don't even get my nails done anymore. When money and/or time or tight, you focus on your child. That's how it should be. I don't look at it as I've let myself go, I look at it as I've put my priorities in the correct place. I have a beautiful 1 year old daughter and a son on the way. I would trade my mani pedis for that any day. And you know what? I can still manage to look good when I want to. So don't worry about those nails mama. When money isn't so tight, you can get back at it if you want to. You haven't let yourself go at all. ❤️
