sex troubles

I've only had sex with one person (ex) but now I'm with someone else and everytime we almost do it, it just doesn't happen. It doesn't go in no matter how much we try. And we do foreplay and I understand maybe we're overthinking it but I don't know what to do.

Also I should probably add that his dick is smaller than my ex's and my new boyfriend is a virgin so I understand how he might be slightly nervous but I try to make him feel as much comfortable as I possibly can.

Can someone give me some advice?
