Casual fling - should i go for it?

I'm taking a month long vacation across the country, and my local friends have offered to set me up with a guy for a casual vacation fling (implying casual sex). The thing is... I'm a virgin (21 years old), and while I've been very curious about sex for a long time, I've never actually even come close to having sex, ever. whenever the opportunity presented itself, I get scared. I was taught from youth that sex is only for marriage and I have a difficult time even kissing a guy. I kinda just wanna get it over with and lose my virginity already, and this seems like a good opportunity. But, I'm not on any kind of birth control, and I feel like condoms are not enough and I'm really afraid of pregnancy. Is it a good idea to agree to the set-up and see where it goes? I know no one can really make this decision for me but I have no experience whatsoever so I'm asking...
