How can I convince my mom?

So I have learned a lot about menstrual cups, how they work, costs and brands (Research etc.) and I've asked my mom multiple times if I could get one... and every time I end up getting shutdown and she uses this "drop the conversation now" tone of voice. I haven't asked her by offering to pay for it myself, but she most likely won't let me, saying it's a waste of money. 
I'm pretty sure she only won't let me since she says "they don't work" and that she says that their only good "in theory". I could probably buy a Diva Cup at a store nearby but I'd rather not risk her catching me and I'd rather get a different brand/model. 
It's been pretty frustrating. 😑
Any tips for how to ask her or get one?

Maybe that's not her real reason she's against them. How old are you? I'm 24 and asked my mother to buy a Lunette for me since I didn't have the money; she said she didn't have it either but in truth she is against tampons because they go in your vag so I knew she's against cups too. I got the cash together without her and now my Lunette is on the way to me. I say find a way to get yours anyway. It's your body, not hers. You don't want to be exposed to the chemicals in traditional pads and tampons; you hate the dried out feeling tampons give you and you hate the feeling of sitting in blood all day. You don't want to sit in your blood in period panties nor feel the blood as it leaves your body. You don't want to wash your cloth pads because you feel getting the blood washed out in the machine is gross. I feel you. And yet you're tired of the waste from tampons and pads...Notice the trend here?? YOU are making a decision about YOUR body. Don't let anyone stand in your way. Period.

first, how old are you? second, how can she say they don't work if there are so many praise stories online? I love my cup. I ordered it off Amazon. Maybe see if a friend can get it ordered for you. And maybe remind your mom how pads and tampons are laced with chemicals and cost about 5x as much as a cup does.

She probably just thinks it's a trend thing that won't catch on and you'll move on to something else next week like the latest lululemon leggings or something.
They are pretty expensive so if you you do have any spending money of your own then maybe you should offer to split the cost with your Mum or give her the full amount to buy it for you. That would show you are keen and aren't just following a trend because you're willing to buy it with your own money.

I'd ask her why she is against it. When I got mine, I asked my mom as well and she said I could do whatever with my body as it is my body after all. It would seem weird for her to not give an explanation. If you know why, then you can give more info to counter her argument.

I've been using mine for about 4 months and it takes a bit of getting used to (making sure its in there correctly) for the first 2 months i wore liners just in case i spotted. I'd say they work like magic! I'll never go back. maybe you can have a friend order you one (from Amazon, thats where i got mine) and try it out? A LOT of peoe use them now days, i dont know why she would think they dont work.

I'm a MC user of several years now, and I can't stay that I have any complaints. Definitely a game changer for me. 
They are free of toxins (BPAs, phalates, dioxins, and etc); reduces odor, cramps, and dryness; hygienic and reusable; easy insertion; and you can leave them in up to six hours (I don't personally but you can). I switched to menstrual cups a few years ago and have not regretted it. They come in a variety of sizes and colors, and made of surgical silicone (so you can find one for women that don't have children and women that do have children). You simply insert them similar to a tampons. They are completely sanitary as long as you have good hygiene and wash your hands before and after. There are also plenty of YouTube reviews on them and specific ones for you to check out.

I just kept asking, kept telling her the benefits and then my aunt also uses one and so my mom talked to her and then I kept asking some more 😂 Since your mom doesn't think it'll work I suggest asking for a cup that allows returns. The only one I know of right now is the Lena cup but I believe I saw a few more.
