I recently had my first ever cold sores at the age of 21 followed by sores on my vagina. I went to the doctor and she told me that I have the herepes simplex virus 1 and 2. I'm trying to see if I'm not alone because I feel like I will be judged by anyone I tell...

I also have hsv1 and honestly? After you accept yourself for it you'll see that not everyone out there is an asshole. I met my boyfriend during my first outbreak, told him about it on our first date because he wanted to take things to the bedroom, and almost a full year later we're still together and going strong :) There are plenty of people who will accept you and love you, and they know you didn't choose this. If you ever need to talk to someone about this, I'm more than willing :)

I also have herpes type 1 and 2 - it's not a huge deal, honestly. I know at first it seems like it, and you might think you're dirty somehow, but that's definitely not true. The right people won't care about it at all and if someone judges you for it, that's not the kind of person you want in your life. If you have any questions feel free to ask ☺️

1/3 of the entire population has hsv. 1/3 carries it but don't ever have symptoms. That leaves only 1/3 not infected. And actually, those statistics were from 1995, so there are probably fewer now who don't.

Fortunately iv never had one, but know you're not alone. Im sure 3/4th of this site has women thats had one lol STDs are obviously common, make sure you always protect yourself and always let future partners know this information. You have to be extra careful to prevent spreading it, but your life is definitely not over! Ask your doctor 100 questions to make you feel more secure in prevention, your not alone girl 🙂

I have hsv 1 and I get mono not cold sores. I've never had cold sores in my life thank god! And he said I tested just below negative on hsv 2 and if I have a breakout of think I have it to get retested to make sure but until then have protected sex. Because my levels for hsv 1 were in the 2000 range so he said it could've affected my numbers for hsv 2. And no one I have had sex with before or after this has it.
