Tubes tied - what do you think?

Why do you have to be a certain age with kids to be able to get your tubes tied? And do you agree with that or do you think any adult should be able to get it done regardless if they have children or not?

Answer

I can understand in a way that doctors don't want to deal with possible lawsuits if women change their mind after the procedure. They could claim they weren't given all of the info about it. 
But, that being said, I've wanted to get it done for years. I've always known I don't want kids. I'm almost 30 and I still can't find a doctor near me who's willing to do it. It's very frustrating that I'm unable to make that decision about my own body. And, if I were to end up pregnant and get an abortion I'd have people telling me I didn't take enough precautions to prevent it.

Its meant to be a permanent procedure and feelings can change from our youth when we are very self centered. I agree with waiting until a certain age to do it, but I don't agree with the fact that most doctors think you should've at least had one child, because some women know they dont want any. But theres always a doctor out there who will do it regardless of # of kids and age. 🤷
