So I’m 13, and I’m kind of worried when I’m supposed to start shaving down there. I don’t know if my mom will ever teach me but I do plan on shaving down there.

I don’t remember my age exactly but I know I was a freshman in high school but I don’t think you have to wait that long. As long as you look up the best way to do it to reduce the amount of razor burn, ingrown hairs, etc.

I started getting hair down there very young. I have only ever completely shaved it once (10 yrs? 11?), decided I hated it, and have kept it trimmed since.  (currently 18). Dont feel pressured into shaving. it's all personal preference. My body tends to have a lot of dense, coarse body hair all over (think hairy man arms...but on a woman. yeah. i am that unfourtunate soul) and likewise, my pubic hair is also very thick. I personally didnt like the way it spilled out and didnt want to draw that kind of sexual attention to myself when in swimsuits, so I shaved. Start whenever you want. dont feel uncomfortable asking your mom for a shaver, she has gone through the exact same thing! Or, if you want, keep it long. This actually helps your vag stay clean, plus there's a bit of padding if anything hits your pubic bone. Best of luck in whatever you choose!

You don’t have to shave if you’re uncomfortable with it :) there are plenty of girls that go natural and don’t shave or wax down there...you can always just trim and keep it neat

I used to shave when I was a swimmer, around 13. After I stopped competing, I just stopped shaving down there. Too much work 😫
