Is it wrong to go to dinner with a friend of the opposite sex?

I have been friend with this guy on social media for awhile now and I’ve seen him out a few times. We recently chatted on Snapchat and have planned to go to dinner. One thing is; i have a boyfriend. Am i wrong for doing this?

I think it's one thing to go out with an established friend, but I'd personally be a bit uncomfortable if my spouse was making dinner plans with someone they're mostly friends with online and don't know that well. But ultimately it comes down to how you and your boyfriend feel about it. Does this other guy know you have a boyfriend? Have you mentioned the dinner plans to your boyfriend? If you're feeling like you're doing something wrong or like you need to hide it, then it's probably something you shouldn't be doing.

Its only wrong if you hide it and if you have bad intentions. If it is purely friendship and you're boyfriend knows all about him then it would be fine in my eyes. And if my boyfriend wanted to come or meet him I'd let him. It's easier not to be jealous when you meet the person.

Me and my friend who is a male always go out to get food, but that’s just the way it is. There’s no romantic feelings, no lust or attraction, we just like eating food sometimes🤷🏽‍♀️ my SO has no problem with it as he knows my male friend is he is HIS friend as well, and we sometimes go out the three of us. But when my SO is busy, we will get a bite. Its an innocent action and theres only something wrong with it if the guy ur going out with is MORE than a friend.

I think it's not necessarily wrong. But you must be aware you're setting a precedent in your relationship. If you can go out for dinner with someone you know only from online, be aware that your boyfriend may ask something similar and it'd be wrong of you to deny his request.
