I need advice!!! Confused and worried

Okay so yesterday I was masturbating, and I use fingers since I don't have anything else. I would also like to mention that I have fake nails, in an almond shape right now. Anyway, while I was masturbating, I happened to notice I had some blood on my fingers, not a lot only a little. Y'all might find it gross but I smelled it and it didn't smell like period blood. When I woke up this morning and after I used the bathroom, I noticed a little blood on the toilet tissue. It wasn't until around 1 during school that I noticed some blood on my panties. Basically, my concern was if I had cut myself with my nails or if my period came early.

Now my period is irregular but it usually comes around the time that is designated my the app. However, as you can see it seems too early to be period and idk what I should do if it is a cut. I'm 18 but I'm embarrassed to ask my mom and she gets embarrassed whenever I ask about anything related to my vagina. Can I please just get some advice on if you had a similar incident or whatever you know about the matter?
