What are my chances of having twins?!

My dad has twin sisters, my grandfather on my dad’s side was a twin, my grandfather on my mom’s side had twin sisters, I have two sets of twins for cousins on both sides and I was a twin! What’s the likelihood that I would have twins when I become pregnant?

My understanding is they generally need to come from your moms side and they tend to skip a generation,so if you were a twin it’s likely to affect your daughter more then you! The other thing I’ve heard is fraternal twins are more commonly hereditary then identical as fraternal twins means you are more likely to ovulate 2 eggs at the same time where as identical is pretty well fluke🤷🏻‍♀️

Every woman has a 3% chance of conceiving fraternal twins.  There were no twins in my family tree and I had a set!

I’d say pretty common but I was the same and I didn’t have twins!
I was a twin (the other passed pretty early in the pregnancy), my biological father is a twin, his twin had twins, my sister had twins, i think there’s like three other sets of twins in the family (he disappeared when I was born so I don’t know much about that side of the family, just that there’s a ton of twins.) 
I just had one baby, but everyone is guessing that when I try for #2 it’ll be multiples

It's from the mother's side, not the father's side. My great grandmother  (on my mother's side) was a twin, My mother is a twin and I'm a twin. I was told by my Dr that I have a 85% chance of having twins. But both pregnancies were just one! I would ask your dr.

I’d say it’s possible. My half sister had a set of twin girls and my other younger half sister was a twin but my step mom lost the other baby but that’s the only twins in our family. So it could happen.
