Has anyone had a DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis)?

I'm just wondering if any of you ladies have had a deep vein thrombosis? If you did, did you have a pulmonary embolism because of it? I've heard that 50% of DVT's are asymptomatic (meaning they have no symptoms). I have very slight swelling in my left leg. Barely noticeable but it's there. I had Charley horse cramps a couple nights ago. The pain hasn't gone away. I've heard a DVT can feel like a Charley horse sometimes. It feels like there's knots in my muscles. Has anyone had these pains and had it turn out to be a DVT?

You need to go to the doctor ASAP to get it checked. DVT can lead not only to pulmonary embolism, but to heart attack or stroke as well. You are at a higher risk for all of the above during pregnancy. They’ll do a physical exam of the area you feel pain in and get an ultrasound of the area if they are concerned.

I had a red hot spot on my thigh at 37 weeks pregnant. I work in the ER and knew this meant a blood clot. Called my OB. Due to my due date being so close blood thinners are not recommended (you can’t get an epidural if you are on thinners). I had an ultrasound of my leg the next day. I did have a blood clot but not a DVT. I had a varicose vein that formed a clot ( thrombose varicose vein) that didn’t travel and healed on its own. 
Most DVTs are like a red warm spot that forms and starts to become painful to the touch. Majority of the time a shot of lovenox is given and an ultrasound is done to find the clot. Even being pregnant they will still do a blood thinner unless you are like I was ... so close to due date. 
I recommend talking to your doctor and to start wearing compression stockings as much as possible. Also try to get up and move your legs as much as you can.
