UTI Troubles?

For whatever reason, I CONSISTENTLY get terrible UTI’s and I have no reason why! I have had over 12 in the past 2-3 years. I do have sex, but I have protected sex. I also keep everything pretty clean down there. Any ideas on whats going on/what to do?! Is it sex related even though we use condoms?

I used to get them a lot! Turns out I was having an allergic reaction to something in condoms and once I stopped using them my UTIs went with them... not saying that you shouldn’t use protection though. 
I also worked in GYN and saw many reasons you could be getting them frequently. Some women would get them every time they had sex so they would get placed on prophylactic antibiotics (Macrobid). Some women have a slightly prolapsed bladder which kinks the urethra so it can’t empty completely, and the urine sitting in there leads to UTI. Other people don’t wipe correctly (front to back) so they introduce bacteria that shouldn’t be there.

You should pee after sex. 
BUT when I was 19/20  years old, I had them constantly. I went to different urologists had bio feedback therapy. Just every annoying thing under the planet. They even told me I had bladder ripples that are seen in 80 year old men. 
What it came down to was my bf at the time was dirty. Beyond that, one urologist gave me an Rx to take after I had sex every time and I realized that being super super stressed caused me to get them. 
It did get better and they came less frequently. I still get them every now and again, but feel like most women do. 
Hopefully, some of this crazy comment helps or puts you at ease.

Pee before and after sex. Drink pure cranberry juice mixed with water. Costco sells it. My co worker experienced this issue. She stopped wearing thongs, drank a lot of water and drank cranberry juice when she felt the uti coming on.
