What do I do???

Question

Today at school a rumor started floating around by my ex best friends ex boyfriends saying that my boyfriend raped her. Even though we don't have proof that he said that through text the school wont do anything. Its false accusations of rape on his part and the girl has confirmed that its false And they still wont do anything. I don't know what to do. He's been with me for the last year and I know this isn't true. But still what can I do to make the school or someone realize that this accusations are wrongful and that we should press charges against him for slander 
I just don't know what to do?

Talk to the counselor. Explain how you feel this can destroy your boyfriend’s future and it’s emotionally damaging to you. Ask him to mediate for you and the others involved. Talk out the issue. Y’all almost adults. Y’all can use your words. 
Let’s be real. It’s not that the school WON’T do anything. It’s that they CAN’T. Their hands are tied without a statement confirming the issue. 
You also should read your student handbook and see if the other student is violating any rules about rumors or accusations. Ask anyone who directly heard the rumor leave the student’s mouth or received a text from the student about this to report to the counselor with honesty. 
And finally, talk to your parents. Talk to your boyfriend’s parents. Talk to the other child’s parents. 
No one can help or advocate for y’all without clear communication and direct contact with adults will help. I swear to god.

If you want to press charges, you have to go to the cops, not the school. They can’t do anything.
