sex/relationship advice thing

my boyfriend (M16/17) and I (F16) have been going out for about 7 months and last we were at a small party and both somewhat drunk and we were mentioning and talking about sex and related stuff which we rarely mention when sober.

we were staying at the host's house and we passed out for a bit until 3:30 am. we couldn't get to sleep so I started teasing him a little and it escalated to 2nd base/3rd base over clothes. and if there wasn't other person asleep in the same room and if we had a condom we probably would have maybe had sex.

for future reference, does anyone have any advice/do's and don'ts/tips ( other than wearing protection), help a girl out?
