My boyfriend and I have been together for about a year and a half now. Since before I met him hes been wanting to join the coast guard. Obviously i'm not going to want him to change his ambitions bc of me and I think it's great that he wants to serve our country! He's doing MEPS all this week and is super excited and nervous, he goes to Philly in August for boot camp and I go to College in OK in August as well. I guess my question is, how hard is it to not be able to see your significant other? How often do you get to hear from them? Does their missing presence get easier? I'm not thinking of breaking up with him at all, I wouldn't dream of it. I'm just trying to prepare myself for the separation.
