(TMI) Why does my nipple hurt?

So my boyfriend came over today. We were kinda fooling around and he started playing with my boobs, then he lifted up my shirt and started sucking on my nipples. He looked at me to make sure it was okay and I said it was, since we’d done this before and we were both really into it.

Everything was fine and we finished and everything, but then about 2 hours later my nipples started hurting really bad. Now it’s later tonight, like 6 hours after, and they still hurt even after I took an advil.

Is it possible to get some sort of infection from him sucking my nipples? (He didn’t bite them at all and he was really gentle about it).

Sorry if this was TMI but I couldn’t find any info online.
