Why is he doing this?

So my ex and I broke up about 3 months ago, and we were texting each other and catching up with one another. All of the sudden he starts sending pictures of himself and his little siblings (I would always say that his siblings are adorable) and then all of the sudden he starts talking abt his best friend that is a girl and he called her hot, then sent me a picture of her. I honestly don’t know why he was doing that stuff. I didn’t send him any pictures of myself or any pictures in general but I got so confused. Does anyone know why he would do that? Thanks
