Sitz bath after c-section?

Hi all, ftm here...
Today my doctor recommended that I should have a c-section and it’s scheduled a few days before baby’s due date. I had my heart set on a vaginal birth but I want to do what’s best for my baby. I wanted to know if anyone has had sitz bath to help with the recovery process. I was considering purchasing the toilet basin instead of using the tub. I’m curious as I’ll have to wait to see my doctor next week.

Sitz bath is usually to help clean and soothe your perineum which wont be affected at all since you will be having a c-section.

You can just shower. You wont need a sitz bath

Showering will be way easier and way less painful. You probably won’t be allowed to submerge your incision for at least a month either. I’d look into a belly binder though it will save your life.

You won't be able to submerge your incision until cleared by your Dr, probably at 6 weeks postpartum.
