Birth control and breastfeeding
Before I got pregnant I was on the nuva ring and I really liked it. I've tried a lot of birth control and it was what worked best for me. I asked my gyno if it was ok for me to use while breastfeeding and he said yes. Then I realized that it has estrogen in it not just progesterone and my midwife told me after delivery that an estrogen based birth control would effect my milk supply. I'm frustrated that my doctor told me that it was ok while nursing, and I haven't started using it yet. So I am wondering if anyone has had experience using the nuva ring while breastfeeding and what it was like. Did you supply drop? Did the estrogen passing through your milk effect your little one? I'm considering just using condoms but I really dont want to, my husband and I never really have because I hate it, but I also don't want anymore babies. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks 😊
