Can a 10 month old have a small amount of elderberry syrup?

Question

There's alot of illness going around and we have several family get togethers coming up. There will be other children most of whom are in school. I use elderberry as a preventative for myself this time of year and have had great success with it. Can I give a tiny amount to him to help keep him from getting sick at these upcoming gatherings?

I  currently take extra and am exclusively breastfeeding so my son is getting the benefits vicariously through his milk his doctor said. But I have also put a few drops in his milk when he was sick and we had no problems or reactions.
