Can ovulation test be used as pregnancy test??

I’ve been hearing from a few people that a ovulation test can be used as a pregnancy test is that true??

You can’t use these to detect pregnancy even though they may detect HCG. If you think you’re pregnant then take a pregnancy test. This ovulation test is negative and just means you’re not having a surge in lh.

No, this is very FALSE. OPK’s should never be used in lieu of a pregnancy test. This is a negative OPK, and it’s not indicative of pregnancy. A OPK may yield a positive result if you are possibly pregnant because it may not be able to distinguish between LH and HCG, but it wouldn’t do so before an actual pregnancy test.  Take an actual pregnancy test to test for pregnancy.

It can mistake hcg for lh, so yes, it may show a somewhat dark line like it is. But it shouldn’t be used in place of a hpt.
