How long did it take to get in to 1st fertility appointment after being referred?

Hi ladies,
Just wondering how far out fertility appointments book usually? I finally got a referral after almost 3 years ttc, and when I called the fertility clinic they said it would be 6 months to see the nurse practitioner and 8 months until we can see the dr. Is this a normal wait time? I just want to find out what our options are. I think I’m going to call another clinic a friend of mine went to. I was expecting a wait, just not that long. Any thoughts?

I would check in with the other clinic. There is enough waiting as it is in this process and if your friend liked the doctor, you might as well go with that one. My GYN gave me referrals to two different clinics and I just went with the one who got me in first.

Depends on the clinic. Mine was within 2 weeks. The other clinic i called was 6 weeks. Many people have to wait 6-8 months BUT ask if they have a cancellation list. Many people get in sooner because of that. Definitely take the appt and see if you can get in somewhere else soon

I got a consultation appointment within a week of calling them. And just so happened I was starting my period the day my consultation was so we started all of the diagnostic tests 2 days later (cycle day 3). I would call around.

I’m going through fragility now and your gynecologist can do all the testing in their office. It’s a lot cheaper and you can get in sooner
