Bad Decision?
Last year I scored a 4 on the AP Lang test, and effectively tested out of the Eng 101 and 102 prerequisites for a total of 6 credits at the college I will be attending next year. I'm taking AP Lit and as much as I enjoy my classmates and teacher, it's just too much and unnecessary. I understand that college is a lot of work and AP Lit is a good precursor to that, but I also will have a job with a higher wage and less hours that still even out to more money than my current jobs, my parents agreed to pay my rent and all school costs if I attended this university, and from the college students I've been talking to, the reality is that I wont be stuck in a classroom for hours on end because the law says so - I'll only have as many as 4 lectures/labs a day and more independent work. Right now, between work and school with my one free block, I'm unable to do homework for a total of 15 hours of the day. That leaves 9 hours to commute, sleep, eat, everything else, and do homework - the AP Lit work averaging out to about 2 hours a night, on top of AP Gov notes and Calc 182.
Am I absolutely screwing myself by dropping AP Lit and just shoving through Online English (which has no papers due because the teacher doesn't care and I can most definitely just test out and be done)? I know that I will miss the class, but I'm really overwhelmed.
