Chances of having a girl?

My husband has 5 brothers and I have one brother and one sister... are our chances of having a girl lower since he has all brothers? Someone told me that it’s based off of the fathers genes?

My husbands mom is the oldest of 9 (7 girls 2 boys) and his dad is the youngest of 4 boys. He has 2 sisters (1 older 1 younger). We are pregnant with our 2nd boy (my oldest has a different dad).

It has to do with father but not their genes. It’s which sperm gets to your egg. Male sperm live shorter time frames. Female sperm tend to move slower but live longer. So all depends on timing of your ovulation to when you’ve had sex. Someone (an adult male who’s had no children ever) told my bonus daughter that I was going to have a second boy since my first was a boy 🙄 I’m having a girl 🤣

The males are the gender determination the have the XY gene while we have the XX so there is a chance but I would say the chance is small you have to look at dominance and the Y gene runs strong on his side of the family, there's still a chance but dont be surprised if it is a boy chances are grater

My husband is 1 of 5 boys. Of the 4 brothers who have procreated, there is 5 boys and 5 girls. One brother had two boys, the other has three girls and the other has 2 girls and a boy and I’m having 2 boys. I feel like it’s less that you’ll only have boys and more likely you’ll only have one sex whether that be male or female. I hope that makes sense
