Can "flavored" condoms cause infections?

Me and my bf are 14 and we've had sex about two times now. I spoke to my grandpa (legal guardian) about it and he is taking me to get birth control soon. My boyfriend bought these condoms but they're not regular condoms? They are flavored. I've never heard of them before but he told me he read about them and wanted them because I refused to give him oral without a condom on. The thought of any kinds of stds really scare me! Flavored condoms just sound really weird and unsafe though? Are they okay?
