So I’ve been dating my bf for seven months. Things are going well. We are an interracial couple. My brother has just started seeing this girl who is within our race. She seems kinda mean and yet, my mom is like over enthusiastic about her. Saying she’s so adorable and stylish and personable. Idk. She’s kind to my bf and likes him but she’s not that overly enthusiastic. Idk if it’s bc we aren’t in the same race which is really fucked up or it’s because she doesn’t like me having a boyfriend. I’m almost 24 btw. My brother has dated multiple girls and she’s always so happy and excited.... I’ve dated way less than my brother and this is my first real love and idk my mom just acts kinda weird about it. Ik if I bring it up she’ll get mad at me and defensive. It’s just annoying. I see so many red flags with my brother’s girl... but just because she’s in our race she’s okay? Makes me think if I had an abusive and toxic guy she would be okay with it as long as he’s the same race as us. It just infuriates me.
