Before I say this...I want to say if you take your birth control regularly, you’re probably not pregnant but, if it makes you feel better or you missed a pill or two.  A test never hurt anyone.
That being said...your placebo week is a withdrawal bleed, not a period.  It comes from your body withdrawing from the hormones in your pills.  It doesn’t really signify weather you are pregnant or not.  Some people who get pregnant while on birth control miss their “period”, some people don’t.  So, if you think you might be go ahead and take a test.
