Period a week after plan B?

So last week my boyfriend and I had sex on Saturday with a condom nothing happened but I just wanted to be safe so I took a plan B on Sunday. Today (Saturday) I woke up and had my period. I want to know if this is normal? I’m a little concerned and I’ve done some research but I’m just hoping its from the plan B and nothing to do with a pregnancy.

Please be careful with Plan B you are putting a strong dose of hormones in your body that aren’t natural in those dosage levels. That’s the whole purpose of Plan B if you think about it, it causes u to shed the lining of your uterus so a fertilized egg can not implant. (Irregular bleeding) Irregular bleeding is very common. Plan is for Emergencies. Just like the ER, please I encourage every woman to not take this as an “well just in case”. This is made for the real possibility of pregnancy. Extra hormones have been linked to cancer by accelerating the grow of cancerous-cells.  There have been many articles written about it. 
Plan B should not be a once a month or two option. If you are using it more than once a year please find alternative birth control methods. 
I’m so glad it’s available OTC now but it should not be abused. It was never intended to be “birth control “. It’s sole purpose is EMERGENCY CONTRACEPTIVE. If you had a condom (and nothing went wrong) and on birth control please don’t take this a an extra added bonus of protection. You don’t need those high levels of hormones in your body. 
Please I encourage all women to use daily birth control methods and only use Plan B as an immediate emergency in the event that pregnancy is the result if not taken. Practice safe sex, educate your self about all the different birth control methods available.

Plan B can cause irregular bleeding; as well as an early or delayed period. It will throw your cycle off for awhile; at least for 3 months. And also note that you should not take plan B more than twice in one year; so it’s better that you get on birth control.
