feeling stuck :/

soo me and my bf have been together for almost a year. we’re both 19 and work a lot, and i’m in school on top of it. but i still go out of my way to make him feel loved and appreciated and he doesn’t do that for me. i try explaining that i would like more compliments or more effort in general and it turns into a fight. idk what to do because i really do care about him but i just feel so unloved rn :(
