Do you set an age limit for violent and/or sexual content on *nature documentaries* (I'm talking strictly about animals)

*I* don't like watching animals eating other animals as a grown adult, but am I too protective for skipping violent and sexual parts of animal documentaries with my 2-year-old? Or do other parents do that too?

What do you mean sexual parts? Like animals mating?
We’ve never set an age limit for animal shows.
If my kid says what are they doing? I say, they are mating to make baby animals. If they ask more questions I’ll explain it further.

Yes. My two year old loves animals. I don't need her crying over her favourite lion killing her second favourite zebra.

I think it depends on how graphic it is for sexual content, but for content content, I really would be careful. I was a very very intelligent kid who knew what was going on when people thought I didn't really know or maybe they just thought it would be okay. I was really disturbed by some things, like my dad watching a documentary about the mass suicide that happened with kool aid. I knew what was going on and I understood....I was probably six. I also remember having a lot of nightmares about people shooting and bombings and stuff like that after 9/11 even though no one ever really told me what happened. I just heard the adults around me talking and knew. Again, I was hardly six at the time.

Honestly some of the new documentaries are to groosum for me so I don't let my kids, who are both 2 and under, watch them or have them playing in the background. Watching animals die constantly is not something I put on in my home
