Social media issues

I saw my boyfriend liking his ex’s statuses. It wouldn’t be weird but the context on them was odd. One was about couples traveling, the other about toxic relationships. If you left someone and you know they want you back why are you still interacting with them on social media. It makes me feel like he would go back to her or trying to keep the peace in case. I did say something and he ended up blocking her and said there was no intent behind it. But it’s still hard for me to wrap my head around.
