Advice: ready or not?

My SO and I have been together for 8 months. Im so in love with him and I cannot imagine life without him. He's my bestfriend. We've been talking about marriage and getting engaged a lot lately. I am still in school working toward my BSN & he is a teacher. Financially I am not bringing in a consistent pay check and he is just barely making it with his. We are so so ready to take the next step.. But should we wait? Wait until we are financially ready?

If you're committed.. Why wait? But I got married at 17 and in college and wasn't working. My husband was working full time. I don't regret marrying before financially set at all.

I guess it depends if you want a flashy wedding or not. If you guys just want to commit than go for it! Elope or do something super small that doesn't cost a lot. My hubby and I were 20/21 when we got engages and obviously at our young age didn't have a whole lot of money. He only had money to buy a ring to propose because he got an inheritance from his godmother who had passed away shortly prior (wish she could have been around for our wedding... 😔). But we planned the actual wedding for 2 years later so we had some time to save up and hold the wedding we wanted. It is really up to you and what your priorities are. My sister was barely with her man for a year (10 months?) when they got engaged and planned the wedding for 6 months later.

Advice: ready or not?
