Changing changing pad/tampon with partner present?

Had a bit of a weird though the other day, I was on my period and changed my pad without even thinking about my partner being in the room, it didn’t bother either of us but I just thought is that something other people do? I mean one day he will hopefully see a baby come out of there so is it that weird?
