First scan?

I'm in the UK and I don't see or speak to anyone until I'm 12 weeks for my booking appointment then 3 days later my first scan...is this normal? I've self referred and let my GP know I'm pregnant but they didn't want to see me and said there is no need. I feel like waiting 12 weeks for someone to confirm I'm pregnant or give me any support or advice is ridiculous

Yep, I'm in the UK. My booking was at 8 weeks though and they didn't really confirm anything, just took bloods for testing (FBC, stds, illnesses etc), first scan at 12 weeks, then a community midwife at 16 weeks, another scan at 20, then another community midwife at like 26-27 weeks for more bloods. Didn't see my actual midwife till I was 34 weeks and I only seen her twice before giving birth a week ago (would've been 3times but she was on holiday one of the weeks🙄). You don't get that many appointments if you're low risk

I’m in the United State and my first doctor appointment will be when I’m 13weeks.
In my country(Japan) usually see doctor around 6weeks so I’m worried…but the office lady said it’s normal to see doctor 10-14 weeks😳

I first saw my midwife at 8 weeks and first NHS scan at 12 weeks. 
But I did go for a private scan at 7 weeks as I just wanted some peace of mind. If you go for a private scan i recommend going after 6 weeks so you have more of a chance of hearing and seeing the heartbeat. It’s crazy to see the difference between a 7week and 12week scan! X

That's unfortunately quite normal for the UK. I've paid for private scans with my pregnancies and found ultrasound clinics that do them for free whilst training just for some reassurance

That does sound ridiculous. However, that sounds like the norm in the UK.
