women in the U.K, first midwife appointment?

I have just received my first midwife appointment and it's not until 11 and a half weeks . I'm so upset , I'm just over 8 weeks , I don't know if I can wait until then to find out if everything is ok. It's just the way they do it where I live as they have so many people to fit it .has anyone else experienced this ? I just expected one earlier so feel really disheartened

I've always getting early scans but I get them every 2 weeks because I'm so high risk during pregnancy and of preterm labour, but I'm pretty sure it's about 12 weeks for everyone who not high risk

Did gp appt at 6 weeks to be referred into maternity system (earliest they'll do it). First midwife appt at 10 weeks. Then had first scan at 12 weeks. Unfortunately under nhs they will often wait till at least 10 weeks before a scan to make sure it's a "viable" pregnancy. Sadly due to budgets etc this is a very real way of keeping costs down. You can pay for extra scans privately I believe too though

I had my first midwife appointment at 8 weeks and then the scan at 13weeks. If you are worried about anything though definitely call them! I am high risk and should have had an early scan due to a precious ectopic but they just kept saying it wasn't necessary. It wasn't until I saw my OB that they said how important it was to get an early scan especially after an ectopic. If you don't feel righ with what they are saying definitely get checked 😊

I got my first appointment a week and a half after my positive I was 5 and a half weeks when I had the midwife, and had a scan booked for a week and a half later which was today but unfortunately I had a m/c last week 😓 xx

I didnt have my first midwife appointment till I was 10 weeks 3 days (last Friday) and to be honest, they don't do anything that proves to you baby is ok. They literally just go through your green notes with you and then book your scan appointment. I'm still waiting for mine to come through, so I'll probably be about 13 weeks by the time I get it and can actually confirm that everything is ok.

Even after a miscarriage I didn't get seen until then, and had my scan at 13 weeks! I was really disappointed too but they didn't have anything earlier x
