Why am I swollen?

I’m on the 4th day of my cycle and I just happened to feel my foot jiggle while walking so I look down and see both my legs are swollen from the knees down, pretty severely. What could cause this? Could it be from normal water retention during my period? I’ve never experienced this before, help lol!

I would say you should go to an urgent care or even maybe the emergency room to figure out why your swollen below the knees. I dont think that's normal and signals some kind of health problem but im not sure what.

Honestly I think it is necessary to see a doctor to make sure nothing is wrong, this is often a sign of an underlying health problem.

Update: Swelling is almost completely gone this morning. I kept my legs elevated all night.
