Autism

Katie 🇬🇧

I’m not sure how active this group is now but I’m wondering if anyone is also on an SEN journey? I’m in England so I’m not sure how these things work elsewhere but Jackson just turned 3, he was born at 32 weeks but I stayed in this group.

Nursery are getting someone in to observe him and assess him for autism. His communication, speech and intelligence are all massively above where they should be for his age which is amazing but it’s almost like his little brain just can’t switch off and he lives in his own little world a lot of the time. He has no sense of danger, or fear and we struggle massively to get him to listen. With him starting full time school next year we’re taking steps now to ensure he gets the support he needs because he is so intelligent it would be such a shame if he got lost in the system.

Just looking for some positive stories of SEN journeys and maybe just to know it’s not just us on this journey?

Thanks in advance 💕
