Can I use condoms as my only form of protection?

Question

I do not want to use hormonal birth control. I recently gave my virginity and feel that the way I used Plan B wasn’t smart. I’ve had friends on birth control pills and I don’t want to take them. Is it okay to use condoms and only resort to Plan B if the condom breaks? 
I’m not interested in an IUD.

In my opinion, yes. Just make sure you put the condom on before any penetration or having the penis near your vagina in anyway lol. Also make sure that if you use lube, it’s compatible with the condom you’re using. So oil based lubes are typically not safe with condoms.

Also in my opinion yes. I’ve used condoms as my only form of contraception for the past 7 years with a steady partner and no issues. Just make sure your partner / potential partners agree and you have to be super diligent about it (no forgetting or being pressured by a guy to go without it!) My partner is on board with it and checks to make sure it’s not broken every time he takes one off.

Can I ask why you don't want hormonal birth control? Because that's what plan B is just at a much more concentrated dose so why was you ok with that and not the normal? (I'm not asking to judge at all everyone gas their preference that's fine I was just curious).
You can use condoms but you just got to be very vigilant. They can tear, things can poke a hole them, I think some if not all have use by dates on them (also got to remember if you have a latex allergy they can set that of). They are generally said to not be as effective but if you are careful with them they use able qnd gave added bonus of protecting against STD's

Nexplanon (the arm implant) has worked amazing for me for over a decade. Side effects included some irregular periods and mood swings but I haven’t used a condom since high school and I’ve NEVER gotten pregnant. I renew it every 3 years.

You can, however you’re chancing things, with the summer heat, or having a condom in your pocket, or the winter cold, or Quality Control or putting it on inside out, snagging it with your finger nail, or when you pull out, it stays stuck in you and leaks, of course there’s always room for error human error, Quality Control error Etc. Plan B is super high doses of birth control, there’s other forms of birth control that are non-hormonal, perhaps talking it over with your OB/GYN, I know in the 80s that used to have something called a sponge, or a diaphragm, that you would put it in right before you have sex, and it would cover your cervix, or absorb the semen with spermicide and a sponge, I’m sure there must be some other non-hormonal method that you can use, Talk it over with your doctor and see what options you have aside from a shot etc. are used to use condom only method myself, and I got pregnant twice, both miscarriages with my piece of shit partner, I think my theory was because he had a micropenis, the minute he would ejaculate he would shrink like an inchworm and it wouldn’t leak everywhere I think that’s what would happen. So just be careful, like I said nothing is 100% aside from not having sex. But you’re better off being protected with some form of birth control and using condoms just to give yourself peace of mind if you do not want to get pregnant. And taking Plan B as a form out of birth control is not recommended because breath Plan B can really mess you up, not to mention it messes with your cycle for several months, And cause all kinds of problems in your body. It comes with a pamphlet for a reason to give you all the side effects I can possibly have it. I suggest reading it before you take it. The best form of protection is being as preventative as you possibly can.
