Before period concerns

So, I’ve been noticing this smell from my vagina and it’s so annoying. I have to keep constantly washing my area because I don’t like it. And I wanna know is because my period is coming on or do I need to go to my obgyn? Is this a normal thing because I know our vaginas clean themselves but I truly have a concern. Any help here ladies ?
